Venice
Today I would like to write about Venice. I was there 3 years ago and I liked this place very much. The city is situated at the Adriatic Sea. It has a population of about 1.600.000 with different nationalities i.e. 95% Italian, 0,4% Turkish and other as Moldavian or Ukrainian. Although small, it is a very noisy city. There is a lot of tourists visiting Venice every year. It has the nickname of "QUEEN OF THE ADRIATIC" and "CITY OF WATER".
Venice is a very historical and romantic place. Gondolas are the popular means of transport for couples in love. The city is world-famous for its canals and a large number of bridges. The canals serve the function of roads. I especially like the Grand Canal. In Venice you can see a big St. Mark's Square with a lot of birds on it. The Square is surrounded by churches and museums. Buildings of Venice are constructed on closely spaced wood piles, which penetrate alternating layers of clay.
In my opinion Venice is a very interesting place which is definitely worth of seeing. I would love to come back there one day...
